I use Apple's iCal to do my calendar stuff. Since I use it with iCloud, it syncs automatically over-the-air with my iOS devices and Macs. Also, I can publish them publicly so that other people can subscribe to them.
My primary calendar is public. You might call this my "general purpose" calendar; it has all the other stuff I'm doing that I want to keep on a calendar, such as appointments or concerts.

I've also created a shared calendar with all the Fort Wayne Komets games; it has been updated for the 2011-2012 season.
